¹⁴ Then the tribe of Gad, the chief of the people of Gad being Eliasaph the son of ^(A)Reuel, ¹⁵ his company as listed being 45,650. ¹⁶ All those listed of the camp of Reuben, by their companies, were 151,450. ^(B)They shall set out second.

^17 (C)“Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so shall they set out, each in position, standard by standard.

¹⁸ “On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim by their companies, the chief of the people of Ephraim being Elishama the son of Ammihud, ¹⁹ his company as listed being 40,500. ²⁰ And next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh, the chief of the people of Manasseh being Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, ²¹ his company as listed being 32,200. ²² Then the tribe of Benjamin, the chief of the people of Benjamin being Abidan the son of Gideoni, ²³ his company as listed being 35,400. ²⁴ All those listed of the camp of Ephraim, by their companies, were 108,100. ^(D)They shall set out third on the march.

²⁵ “On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan by their companies, the chief of the people of Dan being Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai, ²⁶ his company as listed being 62,700. ²⁷ And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, the chief of the people of Asher being Pagiel the son of Ochran, ²⁸ his company as listed being 41,500. ²⁹ Then the tribe of Naphtali, the chief of the people of Naphtali being Ahira the son of Enan, ³⁰ his company as listed being 53,400. ³¹ All those listed of the camp of Dan were 157,600. ^(E)They shall set out last, standard by standard.”

³² These are the people of Israel as listed by their fathers' houses. All those listed in the camps by their companies were ^(F)603,550. ³³ But ^(G)the Levites were not listed among the people of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses.

³⁴ Thus did the people of Israel. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, ^(H)so they camped by their standards, and so they set out, each one in his clan, according to his fathers' house.

From Abraham to Jacob

²⁸ The sons of Abraham: ^(A)Isaac and ^(B)Ishmael. ^29 (C)These are their genealogies: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, ³⁰ Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, ³¹ Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael. ^32 (D)The sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan. ³³ The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the descendants of Keturah.

³⁴ Abraham fathered ^(E)Isaac. The sons of Isaac: ^(F)Esau and ^(G)Israel. ^35 (H)The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. ³⁶ The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, Kenaz, and of Timna,^[a] Amalek. ³⁷ The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

A Lament for Tyre

27 The word of the Lord came to me: ² “Now you, ^(A)son of man, ^(B)raise a lamentation over Tyre, ³ and say to Tyre, who dwells at ^(C)the entrances to the sea, ^(D)merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, thus says the Lord God:

A Woman with a Disabling Spirit

¹⁰ Now ^(A)he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. ¹¹ And behold, there was a woman who had had ^(B)a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. ¹² When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” ¹³ And he ^(C)laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she ^(D)glorified God. ¹⁴ But ^(E)the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus ^(F)had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, ^(G)“There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” ¹⁵ Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! ^(H)Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? ¹⁶ And ought not this woman, ^(I)a daughter of Abraham whom ^(J)Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” ¹⁷ As he said these things, ^(K)all his adversaries were put to shame, and ^(L)all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.

The Mustard Seed and the Leaven

^18 (M)He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? ¹⁹ It is like ^(N)a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”

²⁰ And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? ^21 (O)It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in ^(P)three measures of flour, until it was ^(Q)all leavened.”

Sons and Heirs

4 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave,^[a] though he is the owner of everything, ² but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. ³ In the same way we also, when we were children, ^(A)were enslaved to the elementary principles^[b] of the world. ⁴ But ^(B)when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, ^(C)born ^(D)of woman, born ^(E)under the law, ^5 (F)to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive ^(G)adoption as sons. ⁶ And because you are sons, God has sent ^(H)the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” ⁷ So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then ^(I)an heir through God.
